Our Mission
There are 2.5 million septic systems in Florida. 55,000 of them are
located in the
Wekiva Study Area (WSA), a geographic area the
Florida Department of Health (FDOH) carved out of Central Florida.
In 2009, homeowners and homeowner associations in the WSA united to
fight a FDOH rule that forced homeowners to install expensive and
complex performance based treatment sytems (PBTS). We also fought a
legislative effort that essentially applied the same wastewater
treatment solution throughout the state. We know now that the Wekiva
Area issues were merely a test of a much larger, legislative and
multi-agency effort to impose what we believe are unnecessary,
unrealistic, unachievable and economically devastating wastewater
standards on Florida’s residents and municipalities.
It’s a complex issue we will try to simplify for you. Use this
website to find out more. We need you to get involved, get informed,
and join the grassroots effort to protect your property rights, your
business, and your quality of life.
