Calendar of Events
From time to time, there are important public meetings that are held to inform citizens concerning the pending changes to legislation on Septic Systems. When The Sludge Report is made aware of such meetings, they will be posted here. Upcoming Events
- The National Academies (advisors to the Nation on
Science, Engineering, and Medicine) announce a meeting
involving the National Research Council, EPA, FDEP, and other
interested and impacted parties. National Research Council has
been asked by the EPA to review the economic projections and
impact of the Numeric Nutrient Criteria scheduled to be imposed
on the State of Florida in March 2012. Certain portions of the
meeting are open to the public.

- Florida Dept. of Environmental Protection (FDEP)
has scheduled two public workshops to present draft rule
language revising Chapters 62-302 and 62-303, F.A.C., to
numerically interpret the narrative nutrient standard on a
site-specific basis. As was the case for the previous set of
workshops in June that presented the Department’s basic concept
for this rulemaking, both workshops will cover the same
material.
